Austria

Austria is a landlocked country in the centre of Europe between Germany and Italy, and to the east of Switzerland. It is almost all covered by the Alps and there are many accessible canyons in its foothills.

An advanced online database of canyons complete with interactive maps exists for this country, but it is in German and is incomplete. This webpage has an form for entering new canyons (click on "Einleitung"), but does not have a means of editing an entry that is already there, so it fails to be a wiki. It is not impossible for visitors who do manage to locate a canyon from an incomplete description to go back and improve it.
