Creating an Account
To create an account, click on the link in the top right corner of this website.
Basic Editing
To do any basic editing, just click on the edit and then make your changes. Preview them. Describe your changes in the summary. Then hit submit. Voila - your changes are now in the CanyonWiki.
Adding new pages
The way you add a new page is simple. Simple type two brackets in front of the page you want to create [[like this]] When you hit "Preview" then click on the link. It will go to a blank page. Enter your content in on that page, and you are all set :) Save your changes, and go back to your old page.
What kind of Content to Add
This wiki is a one-stop information stop for people coming to it. If you are a frequent reader of eGroups, and you see people asking questions there on a topic that is not here - feel free to add that topic. For instance, if someone on an egroup asked about how to best clean a rope - you can take what comes out of the responses and compile an article and throw it on here. To do this, think of the best place to put the information (probably in a link under the Rope page in the Gear section... and then type something like " Ropes must be [[rope cleaning|cleaned]] carefully to avoid ruining them. (The "|" in the link makes the stuff to the left of it the actual page title, and the stuff to the right of the "|" the text that shows up... I know this is confusing but someone can edit this out later)
Adding Images
To add an image, you must first upload it. Click on "Upload file" in the "Toolbox" on the right. Once you click this, it will give you instructions on the tags to use in order to insert the images after they are uploaded. It will automatically create thumbnails for your image.

Practice Editing Pages
To practice editing pages, you can just hop on and edit one you see. Or you can go to the Sandbox and play around all you want.
