"In Zion National Park, the placement of new bolts is now illegal" - since when? I know it is illegal to use power drills to place bolts, but hand-drilled bolts are still legal as far as I know. Does anyone have a citation for this regulation?

I can't find anything on it. I'll change update it. If new bolts are in fact illegal, will someone please provide us with a citation?

Bolts are not illegal in Zion National Park. Using a power drill to place bolts is.

From the Zion Backcountry desk web page, "It is illegal to use a power drill to place bolts." There is no mention of policy against hand drilled bolts. Thanks for the correction.
