Talk:Canyons in Season
From CanyonWiki
It sounds like The Subway is doable next Wednesday if we are careful and conditions don't change TOO much... --Ryan Gardner
[edit] How to keep this "In Season" page updated
I'll do my best to keep it updated, but it will take a lot of work. Feel free to come here and change things around if you think they should be updated. This is a community page, so do your part to contribute. :)
[edit] Behunin in season?
Sounds like Behunin could be in season based on the recent change. Should it be moved to the "In season" canyon side? If you don't know how to do that, I can do it for you... Let me know. --Ryan Gardner 13:45, 2 May 2005 (MST)
- I went ahead and made the change. I'm going heading down to Zion so I figured I would update as much as I could before I left. I'll be back Friday. --Ryan Gardner 09:43, 3 May 2005 (MST)
[edit] Method to handle trip reports
I'm working on a method to handle trip reports. If anyone experienced with mediawiki has any ideas, contact me. I'm probably going to have to write an extension to MediaWiki to do it - but it should be a very useful feature to the canyoneering community. The technical information already exists elsewhere (Tom's site... Shane's site...) but a way to get quick access to trip reports would be nice. Especially if they are sorted by date and have a "star" rating for how good the canyon was... (or something like that)
What features should we have in a trip report system? I'm thinking bare minimum: canyon, date, trip report text. Nice add-ons would be "Water level", and maybe a star rating on how high quality the canyon was... Simple picture hosting would make it nice too. Mediawiki currently isn't that great for uploading a bunch of pictures at once. I'll talk to the developers and see if there is a better way to upload images.
let me know what you think. --Ryan Gardner 11:57, 10 May 2005 (MST)
