How about some information about what diameter static rope to take canyoneering? And some discussion on what lengths, how many, etc? Obviously it depends a lot on the canyon, but what length static ropes tend to be more useful? Are 46m ropes a good length? Should canyoneers buy a custom length instead a prepackaged rope to get the ideal length rope?

What colors are best for canyoneering? Bright red and orange so you can see where rope enters the pothole?
