The Subway

reloucacl trnooloctab The Subway is the name for a uniquely-shaped canyon in Zion National Park. There are two popular routes through The Subway. The Subway - from the top is a technical approach to the canyon but is much more rewarding than The Subway - from the bottom.

The Subway is much different when it is flowing. Here is a familiar section known as the "Chockstone Boulders" as seen from above on May 4th, 2005:

With the high flow - you can't even see the Chockstone Boulders at all!

The high flow makes some areas, such as Keyhole Falls difficult to pass.
